Mouse Telegram: Happy Mid-October!
This week has been quite the recovery from the long weekend and Hurricane Matthew who decided to create more drama than he actually brought, thankfully. So, let's start off this week with some more openings in Disney Springs- a wine bar! Wine Bar George is set to open in Fall 2017 and features Master Sommelier George Miliotes, who was on the award-winning opening team of California Grill back in 1995. The 210-seat wine bar features oak wood, warm lighting, and a comfortable atmosphere ready to welcome guests for a glass of wine, as well as some small plate offerings to pair with the drinks. With over 100 selections to choose from, make sure you set your plans with your friends to enjoy a nice quiet night.
Speaking of drink, how are you celebrating Yelloween? What is that you ask, well, let me explain. If you're not big on trick or treating on Halloween night, you can head to STK at Disney Springs and celebrate Yelloween, sponsored by Veuve Clicquot Champagne, which features a lovely yellow label. For $50 per person, guests can head to STK Orlando at 8pm and get into the spooky spirit with open bar, lite bites, special drinks, and a live DJ! Head here to get your tickets for a great evening.
Heading into the parks, our newest princes, Princess Elena of Avalor will join her fellow princesses in the Magic Kingdom park at the Princess Fairytale Hall. Guests can chose to meet Elena and Cinderella or Rapunzel and Tiana, and Fast Pass reservations are available now and will be available through the fall.
Moving on to a different holiday, Hollywood Studios has come up with something new for this holiday season. The Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM holiday spectacular will begin November 14 and will feature everyone's favorite little elves from Prep & Landing. Similar to the Star Wars nightly show that has been featured at the park, this holiday show will also feature fireworks, holiday music from our favorite holiday movies, and state-of-the art projections on the Chinese Theater. Besides Prep & Landing, the show will also highlight The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Muppet's Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, Bambi, and Pluto's Christmas Tree. The show will run through December 31. What experience wouldn't be complete without the option to have a dessert party! The party provides guests with a special reserved viewing area, desserts and specialty drinks, and a unique experience only for those guests attending the party. Guests will be provided with a pair of 3D HoloSpex glasses that provide hologram illusions of gingerbread men, candy canes, and snowflakes and ornaments on any bright point of light. A truly magical way to celebrate the holiday!
What better way to join everyone together than a wedding? And what better place to celebrate your union than in the most magical place on Earth. Well, if you have an extra $180,000 to spare, you can get married in the Magic Kingdom after dark! You and your special someone will get to say your vows in the forecourt of Cinderella Castle, after enjoying a carriage ride in the much envied coach, and then you and your guests will enjoy a reception in Fantasyland with the Castle as a lovely backdrop. Talk about the wedding of a lifetime!
A little reminiscing is always a good thing and, if you're a fan of The Muppets then you may also be a fan of Fraggle Rock, also by Jim Henson. Well, HBO and The Jim Henson Company have teamed up to digitally restore the 96 episodes and will premiere them later this year. While Fraggle Rock isn't owned by Disney, the love we have for Jim Henson's puppets runs deep, right?
Turning to movies, Hawaiian Air has revealed 3 new planes decorated with our new animated movie, Moana. The planes will fly on the regularly scheduled domestic routes, as well as international destinations, including Brisbane and Sydney, Australia; Osaka and Tokyo, Japan; and Auckland, New Zealand through March 2017.
Doctor Strange has a new featurette! Additionally, guests at Walt Disney World and Disneyland can get a 10 minute peak at some scenes from the upcoming film- head over to One Man's Dream in Hollywood Studios or to the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land, which will feature a 3D presentation with in-theater effects!
Let's recap a bit from NYCC, which featured a lot from Marvel (which is so great that they're a part of Disney). First, we got out first look at Iron Fist with a fun new trailer.
With the addition of Iron Fist, whose season is set for March 2017, we will have our full Defenders team. And The Defenders' cast got a big name connected to it- Ms. Sigourney Weaver will be joining as the, as of right now unnamed, villain. We also got confirmation on The Punisher spin-off, which will also feature Ms. Deborah Ann Woll, aka Karen Page. And, just a nice little tease was provided by Jeff Loeb, who told us to wait and see how Doctor Strange and Agents of SHIELD will connect in the future! Speaking of television shows, everyone's favorite SHIELD Agent, Ms. Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will be joining the case of Avengers Assemble as Agent Carter! Finally, Ultimate Spider-Man is ending, but Marvel's Spider-Man will give a fresh start to our favorite neighborhood superhero with a simplified name and fresh story. Which of these gets you most excited?
And, finally, the most exciting news- our new Rogue One trailer is here and getting everyone excited for December!
