Let's start this week with a big announcement for the upcoming Han Solo film- Donald Glover, who you may know from Community, has been announced as our Lando!
Ok-let's switch to other news. We got a big Disney Cruise Line announcement for 2017 sailings: Marvel Day at Sea have been announced for select sailings departing from New York on Oct. 6, 14,28; Nov. 4, 11, 18, 2017, and heading to Castaway Cay and Port Canaveral, FL, including a day at the Walt Disney World resort. There will also be a Marvel Day at Sea on a 7 night Canadian Coast cruise departing from New York on Oct. 21, 2017, with stops at Charlottetown, Sydney, and Halifax. So, what's so special about a Marvel Day at Sea? Similar to the Star Wars Day at Sea that was featured on cruises on the Fantasy, the Marvel Day at Sea will take place on one day during the itinerary when the ship is not set to pull into port that day- hence, a full day of just floating on the sea. During these days, guests will get to enjoy special themed youth activities, a deck party, special merchandise (of course), and unique food and beverages. Also during the day, there will be exclusive at-sea screenings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe including the newest theatrical release, as well as viewings of Disney XD Marvel's Avengers Assemble, Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man, and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Special meet and greets will feature Captain America, Thor, and other Marvel Universe Super Heroes. The deck party will feature theme pyrotechnics, lighting, sound effects, and the largest collection of Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains ever assembled on a cruise ship! Make sure to check in with MEI Travel for availability as the price is always better the earlier you book!
Mickey Mouse is turning 82 and what better way to celebrate than to travel around the world to share your birthday with all your friends and fans! The mouse himself will make surprise appearances in iconic, real-world locations and will be documented on his Facebook page, as well as his new Instagram account @MickeyMouse. The culmination of his birthday will happen on November 18 with the debut of a new video of his song, "What We Got". Also on November 18, the Disney Channel will air the Emmy-winning new Mickey Mouse shorts throughout the day and premiere 2 new cartoon series feature the Big Cheese- Mickey Meows Club and Mickey's How Not To. Disney Junior will also debut a teaser for their new upcoming series Mickey and the Roadster Racers. Use #HappyBirthdayMickey to celebrate with Mickey!
We got the new poster and teaser trailer for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2! There's not much to say except YAY!
Some big changes are coming to Disneyland Resort with the prepping of FastPass+, which has been successful over in WDW for a few years now. However, unlike WDW, the Disneyland FastPass+ will allow reservations only to be made the DAY OF and not in advance, either via the mobile app, website, or in-park kiosks. Similar to WDW, there will only be a certain number of kiosk locations in the parks, so the days of running to the attraction to get the FP are over! There is no indication yet as to whether the amount of attractions offering FP will increase as it did in WDW. When this system will roll-out is unclear, but the signs for the future are bright!
Well, that looks like it will do it for this week folks. Enjoy the weekend!
