The Film Basement Episode #3 - NIGHT OF THE HUNTER, LAST BIRD and THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MISSOURI
Robert Mitchum's portrayal of Harry Powell is one of the best villains ever put to film. In 1955's NIGHT OF THE HUNTER we meet the dark preacher that is in desperate search of ten thousand dollars hidden by two children. When first released it was met with a poor critical response and a low take at the box office. Over the years the film has earned a status as one of the best ever made. It's part of my collection but will Adam and Ashley feel it's worthy of their own? In addition me and Ashley give our thoughts on Great Gerwig's LADY BIRD and I review THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING MISSOURI. Lots to discuss, lets go, it's showtime!
