Guangzhou - The CSG Power Research Institution (SEPRI) recently issued its first International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard on Performance of High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Systems with Line Commutated Converters.
This is the current IEC international standard on DC transmission, led by engineers from across China Southern Power Grid which fills the void in varied fields and expands CSG's business presence and influence throughout the international power industry.
This new standard was officially issued after numerous stages including Working Draft, Committee Draft, Committee?Draft?for?Vote and Final Draft International Standard which tool nearly three years to complete.
Core technologies independently developed by China Southern Power Grid, such as UHVDC and MTDC Control and Protection Technology, have all been included in this new standard, indicating that the DC transmission technology from CSG has been internationally recognized which further extends the technological brand and market influence of the Company.
In recent years, SEPRI has been devoted to formulating international standards on DC transmission and power electronics. Two new proposals drafted by senior managers from China Southern Power Grid has been approved by the IEC, which also serves to extend CSG's market influence in DC transmission technology and provides sci-tech support for its competitiveness throughout the international community.
